Hi Michelle,

my pleasure. I must admit that I was giggling before shooting the video at the thoughts of mentioning you in my video :)

Yes, the plastic sleeves (tree guards) can increase foliar diseases but down here the plants outgrow the fungal/bacterial diseases once the warm weather starts. Our summers are hot and dry and therefore fungal and bacterial diseases are not a problem on tomatoes here (we have other problems of course such as mites and viral diseases transmitted by the western flower trip).

No borers on stone fruits here. I spray once with copper sulfate at bud break to prevent peach leaf curl though. It works very well. Once the fruit get bigger I have to place a net on the stone fruit to prevent Mediterranean fruit fly strikes.

Chickens are doing well. Got 4 eggs today.  We've been giving eggs away to friends as we can't eat so many.

I will shoot more videos over my 2 week break from work. Front yard with the fruit trees will be next I think.  I also should do a video on the Australian native trees/plants that we have on the property. Sometimes we have cockatoos but they stay high up in the gum trees so it is hard to shoot a video about them but it is easy to hear them scream :)

Everything looks great at your place Vincent I still droll with envy looking at your fruit trees.
I love the grape arbor
I am simmering concord grapes for juice as I type this.

Thanks for posting the video It was nice to see "Spring" at your home as we head into Autumn.

I must give all credit to my Aussie wife for the design of our solar passive house and for the tall grow beds. She is very good at house design/solar passive stuff, I am only good at growing plants :)

P.S. Wait until I post the video about the citrus trees in the front yard, they are loaded with fruits :)

Cheers. Vincent

The nice thing about the Perth Hills is that it is warm enough to grow semi tropical fruit trees such as mangoes, bananas, etc. but we also have enough winter chilling hours to get sweet cherries/sour cherries and stone fruits. Best of both world. And the pristine Indian Ocean beaches are only 40 mins drive away. Cheers. Vincent.
