The best fertilizer is a gardener's shadow.

Better days are coming - they are called Saturday and Sunday.

Cares melt when you kneel in a garden.

Busy as popcorn popping.

Compost happens.

Compost - because a rind is a terrible thing to waste.

Forecast for tonight:  Dark.

Friends are the flowers in life's garden.

A garden is a friend you can visit anytime.

"The words you choose to say something are just as important as the decision to speak"

"A minute of thought is greater than an hour of talk"

I have always thought as a Christian, Deacon and Elder that if my church pastor needed me any given Sunday to speak it was my duty to be there for him.
Jewel always made sure I had my material and gave me last minute words of encouragement.

Nature is the art of God.

No man fears what he has seen grow.

A short horse is soon curried.

The sap rises in the spring.

When the wind is in the east, tis neither good for man nor beast.

Advice from A Wise Old Man

-Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

-Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.

-Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

-Words that soak into your ears are whispered… not yelled.

-Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.

-Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.

-Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

-It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

-You cannot unsay a cruel word.

-Every path has a few puddles.

-When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

-The best sermons are lived, not preached.

-Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.

-Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

-Live a good, honorable life… Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

-Don‘t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t bothering you none.

-Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.

-The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.

-Always drink upstream from the herd.

-Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

-Lettin’ the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin’ it back in.

-If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..

-Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

-Most times, it comes down to common sense.

"Boldness doesn't mean rude, obnoxious, loud or disrespectful.
Being bold is being firm, sure, confident, fearless, daring, strong, resilient, and
not easily intimidated. It means you're willing to go where you've never been,
willing to try what you've never tried.
                                       Boldness is quite, not noisy"

My Irish side had it's Luck Of The Irish Day when she said, "come over & ride my horse with me"
somehow with her I wasn't even embarrassed to say I didn't know how to ride a horse.

On a bike no one ever asks

                    "Are we there yet"

this was the first one--then a Harley 250 Sport-- then a new Honda
when Jimmy first got the Cushman he was to little to start it--Jewel or I would usually ride with him at first

If aught posses thee from me, it is dross, usurping ivy, brier , or idle moss, who, all want
of pruning, with intrusion infect thy sap and live in thy confusion
                                                  OR

The things that take you away from me are worthless--just overgrown weeds in need of
trimming, they get into your system and infect you, feeding off your confusion
