this is not a picture of my butt
« on: August 30, 2017, 08:24:37 AM »
Bart Simpson took a selfie of his butt one time in one of the shows. This a selfie I took of the side of my head  after spending the day yesterday getting a basal cell carcinoma cut out. This thing was in the inner side flap and was into the cartilage . About three weeks ago my dermatologist saw a small ulcer looking spot and a biopsy confirmed her suspicion. There was more to it than at first thought. Too many times on the lake wearing a ball cap instead of a wide brimmed hat. The Doc got it all but my ear may flap in the wind.

Glad to see you’re OK and she got it all.  That’s not something people should ignore.

I looked at my husbands face one day and told him he had a Basal
Cell Ca. He said it was nothing. I hounded him daily for 3 weeks, and he finally went to the doc just to get me to be quiet. Yep, was a basal cell, and they cut a plug out his face. I now watch him like a hawk, since he never takes anything seriously. Glad you got that done and behind you, Monroe. Hope it heals quickly for you.

Thank ya'll, I wanted to get attention because this one was the worse one ever and was so insignificant looking. Jewel & I have been going to the same dermatologist several years. She is with the Dallas Associated Dermatology at Baylor. She has me come in every 6 months now and usually finds something to freeze or scrape on, so far Jewel has never had anything. I certainly encourage everybody to not let anything go. Being a good looking blue eyed red head, like me, does have it's problems of side affects from the sun , Doc says my skin damage is from years past.

Good on you Mr Monroe,
Its no fun having bits cut off you, at best , however the alternative is not pleasant either, Stay Well & remain vigilant ,

Monroe glad you had an alert dermatologist who was able to detect the area in question and you caught it in time and got it removed.

My wife had a similar occurrence of basal cell carcinoma about 10 years ago when her eye specialist noticed a place on her nose that was suspicious.  He cut it out and sent a specimen to be examined while she waited.  It came back still positive, so he cut again deeper and sent another specimen that came back negative.  He then did a skin graft, all in one visit.

God bless
