Old Blue
« on: September 01, 2017, 06:09:24 PM »
I found this old truck, a 1975 Chevy with only 28,000 miles, Started its life on a farm in OK, ended up sitting in a barn since the mid 90's. Guy from LA got it in a Estate sale and once he got it the only thing he did besides going threw and changing thing like belts, hoses, u joint and fluids  was he lowered the truck and added GM transport wheels.
The deal was made and yesterday he was going to drive it to work and I was going to pick it up there. About 8:05 am I got a call from him saying there was an issue. The rear drivers wheel fell off on his way in. To go from 5 lugs to 6 he replaced the rotors in the front, (right way) but he put on spacers in the back, (wrong way).
I looked at it and after adjusting the price I still got the old girl.
First thing I've done is pulled out the axels and will be replacing them with new 6 lug ones. (the right way).

Glad it happen to him instead of me on my way home, I would of been pissed.

a good find, those trucks were built to last. I had a 68, 74, and a 77 GMC. no problems with any of them

Zook, I too have a thing for old pickups.I learned to drive in an 1966 Chevy, 3 speed on the column, choke on the dash, oak boards in the bed. I now have a 86 Chevy 4 x 4, that I keep parked in the woods, I use it 4-5 times a year, can't part with it. What I wouldn't give to have the old 66 back now.
