Well, Irma came to visit me and I wasn't home! I used to live on Isle of Capri, just a couple miles north of Marco Island! Glad I'm not there now!Since the eye came right over where I used to live, and the house was on a 2-foot elevation and 22 feet from the water, I'd bet it's got water to the eaves right now from the back surge!

We had a hurricane warning when I lived there in 1979 and all the boat owners plugged the intake and exhaust and scuttled their boats. It was strange to see nothing but masts sticking out of the water! Then after the storm passed the floated the boats with airbags, unplugged the intakes and exhaust and were ready to go!I haven't seen that done during this storm. Wonder why.Anyone know what has changed over time?
