The original victory garden video
« on: March 10, 2016, 06:48:43 AM »
A friend found this on youtube and sent it to me.  It is fun to watch.  Back in the day they grew food as part of the war effort and to offset rations during the war.  Thought I would post it in case anyone wanted to see it.

I remember Victory gardens, my twin, town cousin talked me into going in with him & ordering a box of assorted pkgs of garden seed to sell. It seems like for ever 10 packages we could we would make about 20 cents. He had a order blank from the Grit paper& we mailed in our money. I still don't know how anybody that looked exactly like me could have been so stupid, but since I looked like him that is my excuse. By the time we got our seed the war was over & everybody in town had stopped gardening. We finally sold a few packages but never did get our money back. I was 9 years old when the war was over. Chipper I nearly forgot to tell you that I really enjoyed the video & that is pretty much what lots of folks in town were doing.

We thoroughly enjoyed your Video, thanks for the effort. It kind of makes you shudder with shock when you see the old careless way of handling potentially dangerous goods in the domestic environment. Regards Pete
