Happy Hour / Re: Oldie but a goodie

Rabbit that was great, In 1919 my Grandpa bought a brand new Model T touring car and drove it to a family reunion at Seymour, Mo. My Dad was five years old at the time but he could remember the trip. One thing I remember him telling was Grandpa had to get a new set of tires before they got back home, he could remember lots of gravel roads. I know he told how many days it took to get there and I want to say three but I'm not sure. My Grandpa is the small black haired man on the back row between two of his brothers in the white looking shirts. Grandpa was 51 then. He was the only one of the clan to come to Texas.

Yup, I'm still where it gets colder and stays that way!

they found a 5ft+ rattlesnake under the deck of a New Orleans home.
When I first moved here 9 years ago, it was considered
zone 8a, it is now 8b.  I don't remember which seed company last year still showed me in 8a.  Last year was definitely milder.

Evidently the okra was listening.  Threats of being swatted with a broom or having appendages chopped off evidently motivated it to finally bloom.  The first opened this morning.  It's been 65 days since it was planted.

Granted, when my wife threatens to chase me around and swat me with a broom, I tend to motivate and get more done, too, so I can't blame the okra.  It's still interesting to me, though, that the plants are as large as they are before they started to produce.

Oh, and the good advice award goes to Monroe, who told me to just be patient.  His guestimate of two additional weeks before the okra started to produce was very close.
If you open the second link, you can then put your pointer near where you live and click on it. It will then enlarge your state to where it's easier to see and there is a place at the top to put your zip code and it will tell you your zone.

So glad everyone enjoyed the video. Double B---this area here is BIG on classic car shows. I always see so many when there is a show in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Townsend, or maybe Gatlinburg. Fun to watch them drive through here on their way. The cars always look spit shined and brand new----beauties!! The guy you knew had a great hobby---and PROFITABLE,too.

Gopher----you are sooo funny!!  Love Mothra---and all the other B(C?) movies. My husband teases me about watching them, but they are so bad, they are good! Yes, I missed my chance for a hit movie!
