not sure who puts them out  but there was  2 or 3  traps  hung along the red river levee between acme to shaw . concordia parish .  the traps are purple  triangle shape  about 2 ft. on each side  and about 3 foot  or so tall  were hung about  30 foot high in tree.. have a glue surface on the inside for the bugs to get caught on..were hung from spring last year till end of summer i guess...

if you mean the bees that drill holes in the exposed wood...... at my friends  camp they have tore up the wood on his porch  they even drilled straight down in the top of the steps, and one 2 X 4 they  just about  ate through it never saw so much damage....   you might try  " demon wp " a man down the road sprayed his shop with it said that hasn't had any problem with  bees... it is made for spiders, can find it at a feed store  $11 has 4 packs  , drop 2 packs  in a gallon spray container .. leaves a white film.. going to spray  to see if it keeps the fake jap lady bugs away. they are still bad as there has not been any hard freezes  .. every time it warms up some our truck is full of them

Toad, if you go the live trap way, cover the exterior sides of the trap next to where the bait sits. If you don't they'll reach in from the outside and drag bait through side of trap.

Also, last year I let my neighbor borrow my trap in an attempt to catch a groundhog that had taken up residence under his deck. I believe he baited with peanut butter and set trap near deck. Next morning he found a highly irritated large skunk in the trap! Off to YouTube for help! Video told him to let skunk calm down, approach with large towel or sheet to disguise his human form and speak lowly and softly with soothing words. This he did, covering trap with sheet, and picked up the trap, carried it into the woods and released skunk without getting sprayed.

Hope your luck is better than his.
one of the skunks i caught think it was daddy skunk  , as i was approaching the trap he turned and sprayed lucky there was a good cross wind blowing  , carried  away all but a drop or two that hit my arm , ran to near by hose and washed it off...

If you decide to trap them as a trapper would there are traps that are called DP traps. Look them up on google.
dukes dog proof coon traps ,, got two from ebay for about $26 free deliver..  caught 9 coons  and   two possums  .. works real well bait with cat food or marsh mellows..            order the ones with gizmo to set the springs.. they catch and don't let go, coon won't chew leg off.
