Well, I don't have a Meyer lemon - I have a Lisbon lemon that's about 4 years old. Last year, I had 1 lemon. So far this year, I've counted over 50. I had to stop cause the thorns were getting to me. If I knew then what I know now, I would have planted a Meyer.

BTW, my Meiwa kumquat is covered in tiny fruit!

yes Meyer lemon trees also have wicked thorns.  here is a video showing the thorns and their effects.  I have scars on my fore arms to attest to their thorns.

This is about the best explanation of our Fertilizer technique recommended to us years ago by our county agent.

It is the only thing we do to all our citrus, plums, etc every year and we do seem to benefit greatly from it..

My next door neighbor sprayed my lemon tree 4 weeks ago and all the leaves off the back side has fallen off. The front half looks fine. Lets just say I wasn't too happy.
My hobbies are hunting, fishing, gardening and foraging mushrooms.

Actually we had the exact same thing happen several years ago.  We brought it to his attention showed him the damage and that year when the fruit ripened he didn't get any.  Point taken and he never did it again being very careful from then on but the trees are still a lil flatter on that side several years later.  Thankfully we still have plenty fruit and  mostly good years.
