Maggie....What a pretty scene the snow makes!!  So serene..but underneath you remember there lies such a lot of hard work already done even tho more to do ....but enjoy your winter rest from it and knowledge of so much already accomplished. Has been fun watching the progress!

It's hard to imagine how many good times can be had at a pond. The farm I inherited from my grandparents in Arkansas has provided hundreds of meals with the best tasting fish. Countless hours of enjoyment for our family and my cousin sent a picture last year of a kid and his first fish taken out of there. We occasionally fish at our pond here that we made seven years ago but let the kids all around us fish and they have a blast. You can hear them holler for miles when they hook a big one!

When we first moved here there were lots of kids near by but they are all gone now.
Sometimes I would invite the neighbors for a picnic the kids would paddle around in my little boat, fish, go for a swim on those dog days of summer or in the winter ice skating was on the menu. I would have a bucket of hot chocolate warming over the fire.. Although I am not sure who was having more fun me or them.
There is something special about being near a body of water.
