Only got 6 chicks out of 20 eggs.   Texas A&M quail.  These little guys are already 5 days old.

Agree with Rabbitproof- :) I love to hear quail but very rare around here due to fire ants, coyotes and land clearing/bushogging.

They are cute.  I have been thinking about trying some but there are enough projects ahead of that that it might be awhile.  :)

When I was a kid the local conservation club gave us 250  baby quail for us to raise because we had an empty brooder house.  I can tell you that they will peck the top bill off any chick that is different. You have to be watching them closely an get that chick out fast an put them in solitary confinement.

We raised 350 ring neck pheasants at the same time in our chicken house.  Pheasants would peck the butt hole out. It doesn't take birds long to kill off a chick that was different.  Good luck with you chicks
