Mike -- When does 2018 Lambing start??
« on: January 02, 2018, 04:19:35 PM »
Hi Mike., jut wondering when your 2018 lambing season will start.  Hopefully not until this latest blizzard type weather is over.  I was thinking it was around the middle of January last year.  I am looking forward to your post and pictures.  You have enough ewes now that if you can get a good ratio of ewes born this year, you could have a substantial increase in your herd size.

Patiently awaiting the season,  Seeing the reactions of your new dogs should also be interesting.  Keep us posted

Your post got me smiling.  We could start as early as 9 February if any of the ewes were cycling when we put them with the ram.  We didn't put but half the ewes with him in September and the other half went in a month later so lambing will be stretched out more this season.  Last season worked good for parasites but I didn't need the stress worrying about the frigid cold weather. It has been in the single digits this week and that's when we were lambing last time.

And a big Thank You for asking.
