Homemade row maker / bed shaper
« on: March 24, 2018, 09:07:07 PM »
There this together today in a couple hours. It works well. The row makers I purchased with my tractor were too big. This was only the second row and with some playing around we were able to get the rows high and tight! Was super easy to put together and cost me 4 dollars for a couple bolts!

great idea, I have everything I see , thanks for showing. I've looked at my tiller many times thinking there had to be a way.

This is a video from YouTube that may give a clearer example of the same idea

Thanks Daniel I have seen that video many times. The goal on this was to not have all the straps holding mine. It's just 4 bolts and it's on or off.
With the type of tiller the guy is using I don't think a set up like mine would work as he does not have the plate going out the back. The howse type I have has plate extending past the tines witch made the hook up work.
There are so other videos I found where people put alot of time into there's and make some really cool shapers.
I am sure as we use it more we will have ideas to make it better. We learned after the 3 row not to drop the tiller all the way down, it keeps digging. Alot.
If you have any idea to make it better please feel free to share them, I am always open to suggestions to make things easier.

Those are some very good looking beds, especially for the amount of time and money you spent, Bobcat. Good idea and nice build.

That was pretty cool, I looked high and low for row makers before I found one in st francesville, like a two hour ride from home. That idea might work for me, my only problem is I cant till as deep as yall, my PTO shaft will separate, its one of those goofy grey market Kubota tillers with a splined shaft.

Yall  rows looked good though, maybe one day I will try that to experiment.

Hey Mel. I only tilled down about 6 inches. It's the 6 foot wide tiller going to 30 inches on the row that builds the row up high.
I was very surprised at how well it ended up working. We do have plans to build one from iron and make it to where I can make the rows different widths.
Thanks for watching!

I have had some questions to do a little more in-depth video on how the bed shaper was made. I did a quick video on removing it and some of the sizes of the material used. I will do one more in-depth but there's alot going on right now and work is calling.
If this doesn't answer your questions please feel free to ask questions on here of PM me. At work I can answer questions just can't make a better video.
Hope this helps everyone.
