Couple of cute Sheep pictures
« on: December 13, 2018, 07:47:25 PM »
We are still a month or so away from lambing but we got a couple of pictures of the sheep.  I don't use our dogs to bring the sheep in when they are this close to lambing and they don't get stressed when I go out and call them to me.  Bringing them in to the handling area entails going through three paddocks and four gates so the dogs would have had them stressed out by the time they got in.  When I walk them in they are calm and don't fight to get away when you do a lot of hands on with them.  They have their winter coats now and the only way to really know their condition is laying hands on them.  They are in excellent condition and we only needed to worm three of them. We pulled fecal samples of several just to make sure but they look and feel good.  The one picture has a couple of the yearlings up on top of a round bale.  I'm surprised they can still jump that high as fat as a few are getting.

I am with Maggie! I love the pictures and it makes me smile to see these sheep. Those on top of the hay must like limited competition when feeding ;D

Raising these sheep are what we decided we wanted to do in retirement and we have never regretted starting.  :)
