Greenhouse #2 build 34 x 60
« on: December 21, 2018, 11:32:44 AM »
So I started working on the #2 GH build. Well 2 days in and I have 6 holes dug due to auger not working. .

So I got a 2 man auger this afternoon and will start again. Hope to have some pictures tonight to post here. Just wanted to start this so I have a place to add pictures!

Not bad for 1/2 day of work. Should of had more done but. By tomorrow should have the trusts hanging.

I got the 4 corners in level and square.
Have 1/2 of the pipes cut to length and ready to start pounding in the ground.

Edit: forgot to add. Sometimes it's easier to work along than work with someone that has a completely different idea of how to do something. Even though the end result will be the same.... lol love me some pops. But man he can be hard headed...

Jimmyc been having it awhile in the tall grass. This almost a year.

With the crazy weather and working on the other one I kept putting it off. I will have more pictures tomorrow. Worked till dark tonight.

The end walls was a bit more challenging as I wanted to the doors to be open as much as possible and also add in a screen door to go in and out. All that and still use the same materials that came with the GH.

We were able to do it with some slick thinking from pop!

Got all the cement in 20 - 80 pound bags. Hoping the wife let's me play with it a little tomorrow sonic can unroll some plastic from Jefferson island to see if it fits the GH. If it does Wednesday morning we will be putting plastic!

Thank you for the kind words mr Ben.

Hes been having his little truck since his birthday. But hes starting to drive it now. I would have to walk the yard with him pushing the pedal with a stick while he would sit in the passenger seat! Lol

Not gonna have much on building the GH. My camera got messed up during a rain on the first day. Then everything else has been going wrong. We are at the point of screwing down the trusts after a lot of fussing and cussing. We didt take down the GH, it was taken down. A couple of the trusts were bent slightly and we had some issues getting them straight. It wont end up being as straight as I would like it but will sure keep the rains out and the heat in during the winter!!

Christmas was amazing. I got a pair of shoes and for the first time since my youngest daughter was born. Shes 18 now. I was able to see her on Christmas. Also the lil man got some trucks and tractors so he was pumped and got to spend the day with my wife and family.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoy bringing in the new year!

Not to much to show the rain has slowed the build down alot. The top is ready for plastic. Still have work to do on the end walls. And installing the screen

I know it's not right but I am not paying 500 dollars for shipping plastic to my place. So we are using 2 sets of the local used plastic!! Heres pictures of the first set of plastic installed!

I watched your video that shows all the plastic installed. That is going to be some really nice growing space.

The sound of you slushing through the "grass" makes me  think it is time to pray for the tap to be shut off.

Lol Maggie,
I went through the inside of the HT with the bucket of the tractor and dragged the water out. I'd didnt look like much but it sure ended up being alot.

Looked like I had an underground spring pushing water up!

Hoping it dries up in the next 2 weeks. So I can turn it over and start amending the soil to have it ready to plant after my shift in Feb!

Not much work going on with this HT since I am on rotation, but the seeds are popping!

Gonna have the plants ready for when the HT is complete!!

Heres a couple pictures

Big beef in the large container
And compari and a couple other varities in the smaller container from my podna Rob! They were planted a few days after the big beef.

Here are a couple more varities of tomatoes and some pepper plants. Nothing hot for me this year!!
