Boeuf bourguignon = dish from Burgundy, eastern France province where I was born and raised. It consists of beef and vegetables marinated in Pinot noir wine, to be served on rice.

Mrs Rabbit , the meal you posted above is one ( of my many )  favorite meals.
The reason I post "real cornbread" is because Mrs Crazyhorse makes it from self rising  corn meal (not cornmeal mix or other ingredients), add milk or water, spray cast iron pan with a  little oil and NOTHING ELSE.
She makes it really thin (1/2" or less), or thick  (2" or 3")  depending on what we are having to go with the cornbread.
When we are having vegetable soup , she cooks it really thin and puts a dark brown crust on .
We like it like this
So when I say real cornbread , what I mean is , it is not made with a mix or added this or that.

Crazyhorse....Oh, I thought you just meant cornbread from scratch..no mix. I make it with organic cornmeal, a tad of flour, baking powder, salt, milk, an egg, and oil. I agree, your way is excellent,too....love it thin and with a crust. Our lower carb diet is not working too well this summer.....no way I can eat all these good veggies without any cornbread!!!
