 Orange,

Love your Zinnias! They are one of my most favorite summer flower. I planted some seed this year mixed into my veggie garden. Sure hope they do well.
Just wanna work in the garden and hang out with the chickens

I appreciate the courteous comments.  I enjoy growing vegetables. I enjoy growing flowers. I enjoy watching the grass grow.  I guess just about anything gardening related keeps my simple mind occupied ;)  Best of all, though, I enjoy the shared info and experience that everyone so generously provides, so my little contribution is at best a good faith effort at repaying the debt I owe.

Magenta - now thereís a color I never thought Iíd hear myself say. I had to dig through a box of Crayons to try to determine the best color match to describe the bloom. Magenta is the closest I could find. Thereís also a subtle hint of saffron in the centers. Where in the heck do they come up with these colors? Itís as bad as going to the paint store and seeing something called Barney the Dinosaur purple 🙄 But I digress. This is my newest plumeria bloom.

A gaggle? A pod? A herd? A flock? A pack? Iím not sure what best describes them, but I like to think of them as a collection of awesome. The Milk and Wine crinums are putting on a show.

Thanks to all for the wonderful pictures. Too much shade for flowers in my yard other than my veggie garden space, so all these wonderful pics are such a feast for my eyes!!

The paint is peeling and worn, but the house is still standing. Itís been vacant for years; the people who made it a home Ė my grandparents Ė are long gone. The last time I visited, the house seemed so small inside, probably because of all the fond memories it holds. It was hard to move around without a flood of laughter, smiles and kindness overwhelming me. All I had to do was close my eyes, and I was a kid again. And, while itís been years since Iíve visited, a single picture of my grandmotherís irises Ė they still patiently remain, keeping watch Ė leads me up the front steps and through the screen door to a special place that Iíll always remain grateful for.

Your Grandma is smiling at you via her beautiful iris.

I do not have a heart warming story to share of how they came to be but I do have a picture of another type of  iris.
It is a water iris called Yellow Flag

More than a few potted plants have met their demise under my care. Overwatering, underwatering, overfertilizing, underfertilizing, too much or too little sun........ I have a lot of plant-care sins to my credit. That's why I like portulaca; it can stand up to my incompetence, and chug right along. And, the blooms aren't bad either 😉

A beautiful plant with lovely flowers. The portulaca was always one of my Mom's favorite!

My wife's desert rose.  We thought we had lost it this winter but it's coming back strong and looks like we'll have more blooms.
