Psychedelic Rooster? Magnificent Mowhawk? Wild and Wiggly? I could have come up with a lot better name than Variegated Cockscomb, but nobody asked. Itís taken a while to start forming blooms, but Iím thinking I like it👍🏻😀

If I squint and use my imagination a little, yes, the blooms do resemble a butterfly. Supposedly, thatís why the plant is called Butterfly Ginger. When youíre up close, busy squinting, though, take a deep whiff. The scent is intense, similar to a hyacinth. The blooms are short lived, but they sure smell nice.
